You may save a couple of dollars if you have a full service provider sell you the stone, deliver it to the job site and install it. Still, the whole job will not be inexpensive. You also have to look out for hidden waste costs which you the homeowner are responsible for. The length of the countertop and how many cuts have to be made can account for about three square feet of waste. Ask about the possibility of a lot of waste before the job is started. If the countertop prices are not a problem then the granite countertop is for you.
